1. Project Overview
i. Background
The world's first non-profit social platform where people are not distracted by social feeds and can have genuine human connections. Rather than acting as observers, users get to become active participants in others' lives and foster true friendship without needing to dig through numerous posts.
ii. Problem
The result of the user research conducted shows that...
Many individuals frequently scroll through streams of content on various social media platforms to make connections with others by commenting or sending positive vibes. However, with the emergence of social platforms, users are unable to create or strengthen the integrity of friendships since they act more as observers instead of being actively involved in their friends' lives.

iii. Solution
Introducing the world's first non-profit social platform... PanPalz!

PanPalz is a different social media platform that inspires genuine human interactions and creates meaningful friendships without distractions from social media feeds. It aims to foster deep and wholesome conversations between users in order to achieve total companionship. It can serve as a means to have deep conversations between individuals by talking or venting.
2. Design Process
i. Conceptual Brand Design
The central identity for the PanPalz would need to satisfy a specific criteria. In order to achieve the organization's goals that inspire the creation of true friendships, the visual style of the application and website would need to fulfill the following conditions:
-
Acting as excellent and distinctive designs for the phone application and website layouts to attract a wide range of users.
-
Creating a safe space for those who can share their honest thoughts and feelings towards others and foster genuine human friendships and connections.
ii. Profile Pictures
The side versions of every character would be used as avatars for users. When creating or changing the images for the profile pictures, they had to be flat and two-dimensional like the other avatars for the application in order to become properly embedded into the user interface design.
iii. Badges
I did not make the original gold badge nor did I make the visual design within the badges. However, I was in charge of making the other color types to signify the importance of each one. The badge tiers would need to be produced for the supporting vibes page of the website.
These would appear in the following colors: bronze, silver, platinum, diamond, and S-tier. A few of my character designs would be utilized in the badges.
3. Results
PanPalz successfully acquired the illustrations and badge designs to display on their website and phone application for the purpose of attracting new users to the community. Positive feedback had been received when I submitted the illustrations and badge designs to the organization.
Due to an NDA, the illustration displayed on the website will only be shown.
The frontal versions of each character illustration would be integrated into the user interface and experience design for the PanPalz application.

4. Next Steps
To ensure a satisfying user experience, a few usability tests would be necessary to improve the design surrounding the application. the character illustrations and visual designs are showcased correctly on each page for the phone application.
From my time at PanPalz, I have gained more knowledge in the areas of user interface and art design. I was able to increase my skill sets in Figma and Adobe Photoshop exponentially considering the challenges I faced when completing the tasks. I also learned the techniques of traversing through Figma and understanding the reasons behind the design choices of the character illustrations.
